God – Goddess – Creator – Holy Spirit – Allah – Universal Light – is definitely in the details.
However you perceive the life force, the movement of this un-nameable essence flows throughout everything. I pray we are moving towards that time when we realize we are all believing in the same thing. And let go of the definitions, merging them wholly into love.

In one of my favorite photos of 2013, the light was just right to illuminate these incredible snowflakes the morning after a spring storm (with a red tulip beneath). I didn’t know such detail was in this image when I took it. The design of this world, this Universe, is so exquisitely fantastic. I give gratitude to the Creator for the creation. That I am able to see such beauty. (And I encourage you to click to enlarge this photo, then click it again for even more detail!)
My jar of Christmas pears reminded me of this photograph, today. The red and white, the Light.

These lovely pears have a loose recipe you may like to try, using pure cranberry juice, honey and warming spices. They are very festive, no matter what you are celebrating!
Christmas Pears
-
3 firm yet ripe large pears, peeled, halved, cored, and thickly sliced
- 2/3 c. unsweetened (pure) cranberry juice
- 1/2 c. honey
- a little water (to not quite cover the pear slices in your saucepan)
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 1 tsp. ground cinnamon
- 1 1/2 tsp. ground ginger
- 1 tsp. ground allspice
Simmer all ingredients but the pears in a medium sauce pan for 10 -12 minutes, taste. Adjust flavors as you like. Gently slip the pears into the poaching liquid, and simmer a few minutes longer. Turn off heat, let pears cool slightly. Delicious warm with ice cream, or chilled as a side for a special holiday dinner. Or straight out of the jar for breakfast.

With best wishes, warmth, love and compassion to all. In life, just like in photography, I think it’s nice sometimes to let the details blur.
